Window Replacement in Cotati - Written Price Before Anything Is Ordered

Fast, Reliable Window Replacement Across Cotati

Window replacement in Cotati runs $850 to $2,900 for most single-window projects, depending on frame condition, glass package, and whether the opening is square. Most Cotati homes we see are 1950s to 1970s single-story ranches, and the honest truth is that the framing behind those old aluminum sliders is often out of square. Field-measuring before ordering units is the single most important step here. Call (817) 686-2228 and we’ll send a technician who measures every rough opening with a level in hand, not a tape measure waved from the sidewalk.

Cotati sits in a low-wind, inland Sonoma County pocket. The enforceable design pressure on most single-family replacements here is modest. The real scope driver is not hurricane hardening but Sonoma County permitting plus older housing stock, much of it 1950s to 70s ranch homes with single-pane wood double-hungs or aluminum sliders set in shallow jambs. Our Window Replacement team knows the difference between a job that needs reframing and one that just needs a clean sash swap.

We show up as promised and the price goes on paper before any work starts. That is the whole operating model. No fine print about labor exclusions, no phone tag.

We replaced a full run of 1970s aluminum sliders with PGT vinyl double-hung units on a single-story ranch near Cotati’s Old Redwood Highway corridor, and the surprise was the framing. Several rough openings were out of square and one header had old termite damage, so we reframed before setting the new sashes. The homeowner wanted the low-E upgrade mainly for the west-facing rooms that cooked every afternoon, and the insulated glass unit swap cut that glare and heat noticeably.

Calls to (817) 686-2228 are answered by a live person, 24 hours a day. No voicemail loops. When a Cotati homeowner calls with a failing sash or a fogged double-pane, someone picks up.

Window Replacement Company in Cotati

A Window Replacement Company in Cotati handles the full exchange: removing the existing sash, jamb liner, and sometimes the entire frame; checking the rough opening for square; reframing where rot or termite damage has compromised the header or sill; then setting the new unit, insulating the void, trimming, and sealing. Cotati homeowners typically call us when a window has fogged, the crank on a casement has stripped, or they are tired of drafts through the old aluminum sliders on an East Cotati ranch built when the 101 corridor was still two lanes.

Single-window replacement here usually lands between $850 and $2,900 installed. A full-frame replacement on a window with rotted framing runs higher than an insert swap where the existing jamb is sound. Most Cotati jobs span two to four windows, typically $1,500 to $6,800 total.

Full Frame Replacement

This is the route when the frame itself is compromised. We pull everything to the studs, reframe as needed, and set a new unit with new trim. In Cotati’s older ranch homes, we commonly find sill rot where sprinklers hit the wall or where the original stucco was never back-flashed properly.

Insert Window Replacement

When the original frame is square and solid, an insert slips into the existing jamb and trims out cleanly. Faster to install and less invasive, this runs toward the lower end of the price range. But we never order inserts against nominal opening sizes without checking every jamb corner in the room first.

Window Glass Replacement in Cotati

Window Glass Replacement in Cotati is the right call when the frame is still good but the insulated glass unit has failed, the pane is cracked, or the old single-pane glass is the last thing standing between a bedroom and the afternoon heat off the Santa Rosa plain. We replace the glazing in place, re-weatherstrip the sash, and restore the seal. In a Cotati ranch where the frames were set square in 1968, this is often the most cost-effective fix.

Glass-only replacement in Cotati commonly runs $350 to $1,200 per window, depending on the sash size, whether the glass is tempered, and whether you want a low-E coating. Fogged double-panes on the south-facing wall of a St. Joseph Way house are a regular call.

Energy-Efficient Upgrade

Low-E glass (a thin coating that reflects heat while letting light through) genuinely pays off in Cotati afternoons, especially on west-facing walls. A PGT or ES Windows sash with low-E and argon fill cuts solar gain enough that the air conditioner stops fighting the sun. This upgrade typically adds $100 to $250 per window on glass replacement.

Window Maintenance & Care

Annual caulking, track cleaning, and weep-hole clearing extends a window’s life by a decade in Cotati’s dry summers and damp winters. We do maintenance visits as a standalone call, and every replacement includes a care walkthrough before the crew leaves.

Trusted Brands We Service in Cotati

We are authorized to install and replace products from CGI, CWS, and ES Windows, among eight manufacturer lines. For Cotati homes, ES Windows makes a strong vinyl double-hung that seats well in the shallow jamb depths common to 1960s ranches, CWS covers sturdy sliders for the patio wall, and CGI handles any opening where the homeowner wants a heavier-gauge frame. We stock the common sash dimensions and weatherstripping profiles for these brands locally, which cuts the wait when a Cotati customer calls with a failed seal on an existing unit. We spec the right window for the opening, not the one in the warehouse.

Common Window Replacement Problems We See in Cotati Homes

• Out-of-square rough openings. Cotati’s ranch framing, especially along Old Redwood Highway and the East Cotati corridor, frequently settles a half-inch out of level over decades. A “standard” replacement sash ordered to nominal opening size will not seat cleanly without reframing or shim work.
• Aluminum slider corrosion at the weep holes. The 1970s sliders we see across Cotati collect water at the track, and the weep holes clog with debris, then the interior channel rusts through. Glass replacement alone does not fix a rotted track.
• Termite damage hidden under the sill. By the time a homeowner sees the window sticking, the damage often extends into the sub-sill. We open the wall, reframe what is needed, and document it before installing the new unit.
• Glass spec that ignores orientation. A west-facing wall in Cotati is not the same as a north-facing one. Ordering clear glass for the west side of the house guarantees afternoon heat complaints, and over-speccing a hurricane-rated unit on a north wall just wastes money.
