Trusted Window Installation Nationwide

Most window installation problems come down to one thing: a crew that cuts corners when nobody’s watching. The sill gets shimmed wrong, the flashing goes on backwards, the caulk line looks fine for six months and then the water finds its way in. Meridian Windows & Doors was built to be the contractor that doesn’t do that. We’re part of the Garrison Partners family, operating to The Garrison Standard since 2009, and every installation we perform gets a written price before work starts and a written 365-Day Done Right Promise behind it. If our work fails within that year, we return at no charge. That’s the whole arrangement, on paper, every time. Call (817) 686-2228 and a live person answers, 24 hours a day.

Casement Windows

Casement Windows are hinged on one side and crank outward, which makes them the tightest-sealing operable window you can buy. When the wind blows against a casement, it presses the sash harder into the weatherstripping instead of pushing it loose. We install casements most often in kitchens, bathrooms, and any wall where a homeowner wants full ventilation without a center post blocking the view. Expect to pay $550 to $1,150 per window installed depending on size, glass package, and whether the old frame needs full replacement or just an insert.

Crank Hardware and Long-Term Wear

Casement cranks fail more than any other part of the window because they take repeated torque. We inspect the operator, hinge track, and locking points during installation and only install hardware rated for the sash weight. A cheap crank on a heavy sash is a callback waiting to happen.

Where We Spec Casements Most Often

Hard-to-reach spots over a sink or counter are casement territory. The side hinge means you don’t lean across a work surface to lift a sash. We’ve put casements from CWS and ES Windows into hundreds of kitchens where a double hung would have been a daily annoyance.

Double Hung Windows

Double Hung Windows have two sashes that slide vertically, and both of them tilt in for cleaning. They’re the most common replacement window in American homes because they work in almost any opening and don’t need clearance space inside or outside the wall. We install double hungs in bedrooms, living rooms, and anywhere a homeowner wants to open the window without swinging anything into a walkway. Most double hung replacements run $480 to $1,050 per window installed, with the final number set by glass options, grid patterns, and whether we’re doing a pocket replacement or full frame-out.

Tilt-In Sashes and Why Geometry Matters

The tilt mechanism lives in the balance system, and it’s the part most likely to fail if the window isn’t square. We check the opening with a level on both planes before ordering. A quarter-inch off square will bind a double hung for its entire service life.

Ventilation Without Losing Floor Space

Because double hungs operate in their own frame, they work in tight rooms where a casement or awning would swing into furniture or a walkway. We’ve installed ES Windows double hungs in narrow hallways and over radiators where no other operable style made sense.

Vinyl Windows

Vinyl Windows are built with extruded PVC frames, which means they never need painting and won’t rot, rust, or corrode. They’re the dominant material in replacement work because they deliver good thermal performance at a lower cost than wood or fiberglass. We install vinyl windows in every climate zone in the country, from coastal salt air to high-wind corridors. Expect $420 to $950 per vinyl window installed, with the variable being whether the wall needs full frame replacement or can take an insert.

Weld Quality and Corner Strength

The corner welds are where vinyl windows earn their reputation. A clean fusion weld is stronger than the extrusion itself; a bad one opens a seam within a few seasons. We order from manufacturers like ECO Window Systems that hold tight tolerances on weld integrity, and we inspect every corner before it goes into the opening.

When Vinyl Is the Right Call

If the existing frame is square and dry, a vinyl insert replacement can cut labor time by half against a full frame-out. But if there’s rot in the sill, vinyl doesn’t make the rot disappear. We pull the trim and check the rough opening on every job, because the window is only as good as the frame that carries it.

Picture Window

A Picture Window is a fixed pane with no moving parts, built to frame a view and let in the maximum amount of light. Because it doesn’t open, it’s also the most energy-efficient window you can put in a wall and the quietest option for a room facing a street or highway. We install picture windows from Mr-Glass and other lines, often flanked by casements or double hungs to give the wall both view and ventilation. A picture window replacement typically costs $500 to $1,200 depending on glass area, low-E coating, and whether the opening requires structural reinforcement.

Low-E Glass and What It Actually Does

Low-E glass (a thin metallic coating that reflects heat while letting light through) is the single most important upgrade on a fixed window. On a south-facing wall, it cuts solar heat gain enough to change how a room feels by mid-afternoon. We spec the right low-E package for the house’s actual orientation, not a one-size-fits-all default.

When View Beats Ventilation

Some walls shouldn’t have operable windows at all. A picture window on a two-story wall, over a stairwell, or facing a busy road gives you the view and the quiet without the maintenance and air leakage that comes with moving parts. We’ve framed picture units up to eight feet wide with proper header support above.

Bay Window Installation

Bay Window Installation means setting a three-panel assembly that projects outward from the wall, with a fixed center window flanked by operable units angled back toward the house. It adds floor space inside, changes the architecture of the room, and requires structural support underneath because the assembly cantilevers past the foundation line. Meridian Windows & Doors installs bays from ES Windows and others, with the seat board, knee braces, and roof flashing built to the same standard as the window itself. We also provide Window Installation in Huntington Park with the same attention to structural detail. Bay window installation typically runs $2,200 to $5,000 depending on width, roof detail, and whether the existing opening needs reframing.

Support Structure Comes Before the Window

A bay window isn’t a normal window with extra pieces attached. The weight of three glass panels leaning out from the building line needs knee bracing or a cantilevered floor section to carry it. We build the support platform first, get it level across its full depth, and only then set the window assembly.

Roof Flashing Is Where Bays Leak

The joint where the bay’s small roof meets the main wall is the first place water gets in on a poorly built bay. We flash that seam with metal and sealant in the right sequence so water sheds outward. It’s a detail you can’t see from the ground when the job is done, and it’s the difference between a bay that lasts thirty years and one that stains the ceiling in three.

Window Contractor

A Window Contractor is the licensed professional who measures, orders, and installs replacement windows, and the quality of the contractor matters more than the window brand-something we explore in DIY vs Professional Window Installation: What’s Safe to Do Yourself. A reputable window contractor carries the right insurance, writes a real contract, and pulls permits where local code requires them. Meridian Windows & Doors operates to The Garrison Standard, which means background-checked technicians in uniform, a written price before any work starts, and a 365-day written guarantee on the installation itself. Expect to pay $420 to $1,150 per window for labor and materials combined, depending on style and framing scope.

Written Price, Before the First Screw

The Garrison Code says every job gets its price on paper before work begins, and that price doesn’t move at the door. No “we found the sill rotted so that’s an extra $900” after demolition. If we find hidden damage, we stop and show it to you with the new number in writing before we touch it.

The Difference Between an Estimate and a Quote

An estimate is a guess. A quote is a commitment. We hand homeowners a written quote with a fixed total, not a range, and that’s what gets signed. Elliot Vance, who leads Meridian Windows & Doors, expects every one of our technicians to stand behind the number the same way he would.

Window Installers

Window Installers are the people who do the physical work, and their discipline determines whether a good window performs the way the manufacturer promised. An installer who doesn’t level the sill, shim the jambs correctly, or seal the exterior flashing has failed before the first winter. Meridian Windows & Doors sends background-checked, uniformed installers to every job, backed by a 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the installation fails within that year, we come back at no charge. Most installations run $420 to $1,200 per window, depending on style, access, and whether interior trim must be removed and replaced.

What We Check Before the Window Goes In

Each rough opening gets inspected for square, level, and moisture before we order anything. The opening sets the size; the window follows the opening, not the other way around. We document what we find and put the findings in writing if we uncover conditions that change the plan.

Crew Continuity Is a Feature

You won’t get a different crew on day two than you met on day one. The installers who walk the job and take initial measurements are the same people who do the installation. That continuity matters when a window has a specific detail the measurement crew noted in the field.

Brands We Service

We install and replace products from CWS, a manufacturer known for impact-rated and coastal application windows. Our installers are authorized to work with CWS product lines, and we order directly through manufacturer channels so the warranty flow stays clean from factory to homeowner.

We also carry ES Windows and ECO Window Systems in our eight-line portfolio, and Mr-Glass fills out the fixed-glass and specialty side of our offerings. Whether you have a CWS casement, an ES Windows double hung, an ECO Window Systems vinyl unit, or a Mr-Glass picture window, we can help with installation, replacement, and warranty work. Signs You Need a Pro Right Now

  • Drafts you can feel from three feet away. A window that lets air through even when it’s closed and locked has failed at the seal or the frame. That leak costs you money every month in heating and cooling, and it won’t heal itself.
  • Condensation fog between the panes. When moisture shows up inside the insulated glass unit, the seal is blown. The window can’t insulate properly anymore and the fog won’t wipe away from the inside.
  • Sashes that stick, drop, or won’t stay up. A double hung that slides shut on its own or a casement that won’t crank open signals failed balances or worn hardware. It’s a safety issue and a sign the window needs professional attention.
  • Soft wood or visible rot around the frame. Water has been getting past the flashing or the sill cap for longer than you know. Rot spreads behind the siding, and by the time you see it on the inside, the repair scope has usually doubled.
  • Outside noise that’s louder than it used to be. Traffic, lawn equipment, or the neighbor’s dog suddenly sounding like they’re in the room means the window’s acoustic seal has degraded. It’s a comfort problem and a prompt to have the opening inspected.

Our Process, Step by Step

1. Initial measurement and opening inspection. We check square, level, and moisture on every rough opening, plus the condition of the existing flashing and trim. You get a written summary of what we found and whether any structural work is needed.

2. Product selection and written quote. We spec the right window from our eight manufacturer lines, chosen for the opening’s actual conditions, and put a fixed price in writing. That number covers the window, the labor, and the finish work, no surprises.

3. Order and lead-time confirmation. We order through manufacturer channels and give you a real delivery date, then confirm it once the product ships. You won’t be left wondering when the windows show up.

4. Installation and site protection. Our installers lay down floor protection, remove old units carefully, set the new windows level and square, and flash the exterior seams in the proper sequence. Every crew member is background-checked and in uniform.

5. Walkthrough and written guarantee. We walk the job with you before we leave, show you how the windows operate and lock, and hand you the written 365-Day Done Right Promise. If anything fails within that year, we return at no charge.

How Much Does Window Installation Cost?

A typical single-window replacement runs $420 to $1,200 installed, depending on the window style. Vinyl double hungs are usually at the lower end around $420 to $950. Casement windows run $550 to $1,150. Picture windows go $500 to $1,200 depending on glass package. Bay window installation is a different animal entirely, typically $2,200 to $5,000 because it involves structural support and roof details. What changes the price: full frame replacement versus insert, the size of the opening, the glass package (low-E, impact rating, argon fill), interior trim work, and whether the wall needs sheathing or sill repair. You avoid overpaying by getting a written quote, not an estimate, and by checking whether the number includes haul-away, trim, and flashing. Our free estimate includes all of it, on paper, before you sign anything.
