Franchise FAQ
You’re looking at a Meridian Windows & Doors franchise because you’ve seen the brand, read the guarantee, and want to know if it fits you. Here are the questions we hear most often from prospective owners, answered straight. If your question isn’t here, call (817) 686-2228 and ask a real person.
Common Questions
Do I need experience in windows and doors to open a franchise?
No. We provide the training, the systems, and the brand standards. What we look for is someone who can run a business: hire people, manage a schedule, read a P&L, and show up on time. If you’ve run a service business before, that helps. If you haven’t, we’ll teach you the trade side. What we can’t teach is work ethic, and that’s the non-negotiable.
What is the total investment range?
A Meridian Windows & Doors franchise typically requires a total investment between $150,000 and $350,000, depending on your market, real estate costs, and initial inventory. That range covers the franchise fee, equipment, vehicles, initial marketing, and working capital. We give you a written breakdown before you commit to anything. No numbers slide at the table.
Is financing available?
We don’t offer in-house financing, but we work with franchisees who use SBA loans, conventional financing, or personal capital. Many of our owners come from careers where they’ve built savings or equity. We’ll share what has worked for other owners and connect you with third-party lenders familiar with home service franchises. Call (817) 686-2228 and we’ll walk you through it.
Do I get an exclusive territory?
Yes. Each Meridian Windows & Doors location operates in a defined territory, and we don’t put another Meridian location inside it. Territory size depends on population density, median home values, and drive-time coverage. We’d rather have one owner doing it right in a territory than two owners fighting over the same neighborhoods. That’s the Garrison Standard thinking: disciplined, not diluted.
How long is training?
Initial training runs four to six weeks and covers the three things that matter in this business: product knowledge across our eight manufacturer lines, installation and replacement methods, and running the office. You’ll spend time on job sites and in a live operating location. After you open, we keep training wheels off but support on: ongoing field visits, monthly calls, and a direct line to our operations team.
Are there ongoing fees or royalties?
Yes. Like any franchise, there’s a royalty and a brand fund contribution, paid as a percentage of revenue. The royalty covers the systems, training updates, and support infrastructure. The brand fund covers regional and national marketing. We don’t hide these numbers. They’re in the Franchise Disclosure Document, and we walk through every line item with you before you sign anything. Written price, even for the franchise itself.
How long does it take from signing to opening?
Most owners open their doors within 90 to 150 days of signing the franchise agreement. The timeline depends on finding the right location, permitting in your city, and completing training. Some markets move faster. We’d rather take an extra week to get the warehouse and showroom right than open early with a bad first impression. You’re opening under a brand that’s been measured against the same standard since 2009.
What support do I get after opening?
You’re not on an island. You get ongoing operations support, manufacturer relationships across all eight lines (PGT, CGI, CWS, ES Windows, ECO Window Systems, Mr-Glass, Therma-Tru, and ViewLux), national marketing materials, and a 24/7 live-person call line your customers can reach. You also get the 365-Day Done Right Promise behind every job, which is your best closing tool. If the work fails in the first year, the crew returns at no charge. That promise does the talking for you.
What makes an ideal Meridian franchise owner?
Someone who hates excuses. Someone who’s run a team, managed a schedule, and kept a customer happy even when things went sideways. The best owners are disciplined, plain-spoken, and willing to follow a system that works instead of reinventing it. If you’re looking for a passive investment, this isn’t it. But if you want to build something with a brand that stands behind its work, we should talk.
What’s the next step?
Call (817) 686-2228 and ask for the franchise team. We’ll set up a call, answer your questions, and send you the Franchise Disclosure Document if it’s a fit. No pressure, no countdown clock, no “only two territories left.” Just a straight conversation about whether Meridian Windows & Doors works for you and whether you work for it.
