Therma-Tru Windows & Doors in Los Angeles, CA | Meridian Windows & Doors

We repair, tune, and replace Therma-Tru entry doors and patio doors throughout Los Angeles, from the Valley to the coast. We’re an independent Therma-Tru service provider, not a manufacturer affiliate, which means we answer to you, not a corporate territory map. The one thing that makes our Therma-Tru work here different: we tune doors to the microclimate of your specific address, because a door in Sherman Oaks and a door in Santa Monica fail differently, even when they’re the same model. Call (817) 686-2228 for a free estimate.

Our techs have been diagnosing Therma-Tru Fiber-Classic, Smooth-Star, Classic-Craft, and Pulse patio door issues across Los Angeles for more than a decade. We know these door systems down to the multi-point lock gearboxes and factory weatherstrip profiles. If you’ve been fighting a door that sticks, drags, or lets air through, we’ll tell you what’s actually wrong and give you a written price before any work starts. Our Therma-Tru sales & service page covers the full scope of what we handle.

Why Los Angeles Residents Choose Us for Therma-Tru Service

Therma-Tru doors are not generic doors. The lock hardware, the slab construction, the weatherstrip channels, the glass insert fitment – all of it is specific to the model family. A tech who treats your Classic-Craft like a big-box fiberglass door will misdiagnose the problem and sell you parts you don’t need. We don’t do that. We know which Therma-Tru hardware families bind, which finishes degrade first in LA sun, and which factory adjustments need to be reworked for a west-facing entry in Reseda versus a shaded entry in Los Feliz.

Elliot Vance owns Meridian Windows & Doors. He grew up in Palms, learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, and has spent the better part of two decades on our Window Installation in Los Angeles and door projects across the LA basin. He’s the kind of person who reads a rough opening correctly the first time. The crew he runs is background-checked, uniformed, and held to a written standard on every job. That standard includes the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if our work fails within a year, we come back at no charge. In writing. On every Therma-Tru service call.

We serve all of Los Angeles service area, and we answer the phone with a live person around the clock. No voicemail loops, no next-business-day callbacks.

Common Therma-Tru Windows & Doors Problems We Solve in Los Angeles

  • Fiber-Classic and Smooth-Star slabs bowing at the lock stile. South- and west-facing entry doors in Los Angeles take direct afternoon sun for hours. Over years, that heat loads the fiberglass slab unevenly, and the lock stile starts to bow. The door drags on the sill, the multi-point lock binds, and the homeowner thinks the foundation moved. Usually it’s the slab, not the house. We see this constantly in the San Fernando Valley.
  • Hairline cracks at hinge reinforcements and glass cutouts. Therma-Tru ceramic and composite slabs handle heat well, but LA’s swing between Valley heat and coastal marine-layer cooling puts stress on the material at its thinnest points. Cracks at hinge bosses or around glass inserts are the result. Early cracks can be stabilized; ignored cracks spread and kill the slab.
  • Multi-point lock gearboxes seizing. Classic-Craft doors rely on a gearbox that drives shoot bolts into the frame. When the frame shifts from soil movement or stucco cracking – common in older Los Angeles homes – the shoot bolts misalign. The gearbox fights the misalignment, and eventually the thumb turn gets stiff, then impossible. This is the most misdiagnosed problem we see: crews replace the lock cylinder when the gearbox and frame alignment are the real issue.
  • Factory door-bottom sweeps degrading fast. Los Angeles smog and UV are hard on rubber and vinyl. Therma-Tru’s factory sweeps dry out, crack, and lose their seal within a few years here. Air infiltration at the threshold follows, and cooling loads climb. We replace them with OEM or solar-rated aftermarket sweeps depending on the exposure.
  • Patio door rollers and tracks on Pulse and Benchmark lines. Dust, pet hair, and the fine grit that blows through LA yards get into patio door tracks and chew up rollers. Therma-Tru patio doors are well built, but the track system is the wear point. If the door shudders or takes two hands to move, the rollers are done.

Therma-Tru Service in Los Angeles: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Los Angeles entry doors face a split climate that most Therma-Tru owners never plan for: west-facing doors in the San Fernando Valley can hit 140°F surface temperatures, while doors just a few miles west in Santa Monica sit in cool marine air and salt-laden moisture. Both extremes attack the same fiberglass slab, finish, and weatherstrip differently. That is why we tune Therma-Tru doors on-site to the microclimate of the specific address rather than using a single factory adjustment spec. A door in Sherman Oaks needs hinge and strike adjustments that account for afternoon thermal bow; a door in Santa Monica needs weatherstrip and threshold attention that account for moisture and salt. A factory spec cannot cover both. Measure it right, seal it tight, and the door does the rest.

On a 1950s ranch house in Sherman Oaks, our tech serviced a Therma-Tru Fiber-Classic entry door that had swollen and stuck every summer afternoon for three years. The slab was bowing at the lock stile from west-facing sun exposure. We replaced the failed multi-point lock gearbox and sweep with Therma-Tru OEM parts, adjusted the hinges and strike plate to compensate for the slab bow, and added a solar-rated threshold seal. The door swung clean through the following August heat wave. That is the difference between tuning to the address and reading a manual.

Therma-Tru Models & Products We Service in Los Angeles

We service Therma-Tru Fiber-Classic and Smooth-Star entry doors, Classic-Craft American Style and Rustic collection entry doors, Pulse and Benchmark patio door lines, and Therma-Tru Entry Door Systems with multi-point locking hardware. We stock genuine Therma-Tru OEM replacement hardware, weatherstrip kits, sweeps, and glass inserts for the most common model families, so most Los Angeles Window Replacement and service calls are completed in one visit. When OEM lead times would leave a door unsecured, we use quality aftermarket multi-point lock gearboxes and hinge replacements – and we tell you that up front, in writing.

We are also straightforward about when repair is the wrong move. If the slab itself is bowed or cracked beyond hinge and lock adjustments, we will tell you that replacement is the better long-term spend rather than repeatedly repairing a failing slab. We are an independent provider, so our only incentive is the right repair for your door and your house.

Therma-Tru Service Pricing in Los Angeles

Most Therma-Tru service calls in Los Angeles fall into clear ranges. A weatherstrip and sweep replacement typically runs $180 to $340. Multi-point lock gearbox replacement ranges from $300 to $520 depending on the model. Slab realignment and hinge adjustment work usually costs $200 to $400. Full frame replacements for a Therma-Tru entry door run $2,300 to $4,800 installed, depending on the door line, hardware, and whether we’re doing a slab swap or pulling the entire frame. Patio door roller and track service runs $220 to $410.

These are the prices we write down before any work starts. You get a written line-item quote, and the price does not move at the door. Call (817) 686-2228 to schedule a free estimate. We’ll measure, inspect, and give you the number in writing.
